Hi, I’m Susan

We can all admit it – 2009 has NOT been my year. In everything other than health – it’s been a great year. Went to Hawaii, got married, and ate a lot of good cheese.

In terms of health, 2009 has not been my year. I’ve been to the hospital, the doctor, gone for acupuncture and shed many a tear over my ailments. Everyone is getting tired of hearing about little Woogie always being sick. I’M SICK of BEING sick! This is getting ridiculous. I’m currently sitting here with a migraine that has been going on for about 30 hours. The pain is AMAZING, and I’m trying to work through it which doesn’t help.

2009 so far:

- Went to the hospital for chest pains. Last year went for Mesenteric Adenitis. WHO GETS THAT????

- Sinus infection two weeks before the wedding.

- Laryngitis the week OF the wedding.

- Cold/Flu during honeymoon (Cupcake was sick as well)

- Lower back pain that radiates down my leg.

- Feet that refuse to feel warm.

- Major allergy attack that lasted for days.

- Major fatigue.

- General feeling of being unwell, well, almost every day.

- Etc., etc., etc.

I can’t, and don’t, want to remember what else I’m missing. I know there’s more and I’m sure Cupcake can fill you in. Poor Cupcake! He has to deal with me and all my maladies.

I am starting to feel like Susan, the older lady with sagging breasts who pays by check. I’m supposed to still be young and vibrant! (sort of). Where did my youth go? Is my future nothing but a mess of colostomy bags, support hose, and prune juice?

I just feel bad for Cupcake, having to deal with this old Susan and all. He probably regrets marrying such an old sickly lady. Some mornings I wake up looking like the Crypt Keeper and I know he regrets slipping that $49.99 10K gold ring on my finger.

One day I will make a glorious, healthy return to life and I will run and skip through the flower fields with Cupcake rolling along next to me in his wheelchair*.

*Cupcake will be so tired from dealing with all my ailments and it will send him into early retirement.
